Do you have a dog that indulges in your cat’s food? If you do… isn’t it the worst!? I have a dog who loves to feast on everything and anything that resembles food. Louie, my pug, absolutely loves to sneak into his sister’s room and eat her food when nobody is watching. It caused him to have an upset stomach and to gain weight. I couldn’t figure out how to get him to stop doing it and I tried all of the tricks out there! Soon, it became very annoying having to pick up the cat food, place it on a desk, and remember to put it back down when I was able to watch Beatrice (the cat) eat.
I was googling solutions and that is when I came across the Door Buddy . It is SUPER easy to install and has prevented Louie from entering the room. Therefore, no more cat food snacks, stinky gas and stomach pains for him! The strap is adjustable to make the door space larger or smaller depending on your cat’s size. Beatrice has had zero issues entering the room and leaving when she is done eating. It is the perfect solution for my home! Who knew this tiny little knick knack would work!
But, this doesn’t just prevent dog’s who eat cat food… it also prevents them from entering the litter box and having a cat poop snack as well! Yes, some dogs eat cat poop and it is super disgusting. Louie, thank goodness, has not indulged in that delicacy. But, for dog owners who’s dogs love that type of thing, just move their litter box into the room that has the Door Buddy!
As pet parents, it is our job to make sure our little fur babies and their health are in tip top shape! Over the years, I have gotten asked if I give Louie any supplements. The short answer- Yes! Louie, my pug, has had many minor health issues since he was a young pup. He was the runt of the litter and was very tiny when I first brought him home. He suffered from mange, kidney issues and was extremely food sensitive. After many vet visits and thousands of dollars later, I realized taking an alternative approach might be my best bet for finding a cure for him.
Now, mange is normally treated with scary chemical treatments and different medications which can have a lot of side effects. I was worried about these side effects and did not want to expose Louie to them! But, his poor skin was red, inflamed and he was losing hair in patches. It wasn’t cute. I began researching different supplements and products to help boost his immune system. You see, mange isn’t just an exterior problem…it is an INTERNAL problem as well in young animals. I realized if I wanted to cure his mange it would have to be both external and internal.
That is when I found Only Pet Immune Strengthenerand began giving it to Louie in his food. The results were outstanding! His kidney levels went back to normal after switching him to a lower protein food and while giving him this supplement. His mange completely healed within a few months. I was shocked! On the outside, I rubbed a paste I made from apple cider vinegar, yogurt and coconut oil and then I simply broke a capsule of the supplement open and poured it over his food. After consistency of doing this a couple of weeks, I noticed massive improvements!
To this day, I give Louie and my kitten, Beatrice, this supplement in their food to keep their immune system healthy and strong!
There are man other solutions such as using borax, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, and other methods but the above method worked for me! As always, check with your veterinarian as this is just what I did after my own research.
